Do you have a shoebox of memories?

Scott Kelby, a photoshop guru and master teacher had this to say about that old shoe box full of memories.

Say what you want about that old shoebox full of photos our parents left us — it worked. We still have those images; a visual history of our family's life, because they did that. If we did nothing more than make a bunch of prints and shoved them in a new shoebox today, we'd be ensuring future generations would have those images. Printing matters.

And one actor gone far too soon had a memorable quote in One Hour Photo. Robin William’s character shared this…remember, it was a line from a movie not a Robin Williams quote.

With family pictures, someone cared enough about me to take my picture and I exist. It is a moment in time, a happy moment. A brief captured moment of happiness.

I’ll have a bit more to write about this at some point. I just know that when a family member died, okay, it was my husband, I held onto a small album of 4x6 photos and when my heart started to hurt, I could take it out and look through the memories. That little book became a lifesaver for me and probably one of the reasons I got back into photography.
