Adventure Canada was the trip of a lifetime and a dream come true. As a child, I never expected to be able to experience seeing the horses of Sable Island. Walking through the sand over the dunes was surreal. I was really there! We were fortunate to take twice daily zodiac excursions to the island on four separate days.

We had to keep our distance so this stallion isn’t quite as close as he seems. Amazingly, the horses appeared calm and quite unconcerned about us. They didn’t come near us and they didn’t run away either. All of us were thrilled with the photo opportunities we had. The cruise itself was ten days (or was it twelve?) and I could have stayed at the island that whole time. I was disappointed when we had to set sail and leave.
