Pasture Blues
Lucan, Ontario
Turning off a highway onto a gravel road, destination unknown, is an adventure in itself. Finding a herd of horses on daytrips on the backroads of London, is always an unexpected bonus. I remember my mom in our pasture back home, calling the horses, shaking a feed bucket, laughing as they followed her back to the barn. I didn’t realize how special those moments were.
On this particular excursion, the munching of grass was about the only sound I heard when I stood roadside. A few horses approached me and the bay horse with its head up, seemed to be the most inquisitive. Definitely brought back memories of Sundays at home with my mom.
The volunteer group for the McMIchael Art Gallery, Kleinberg, Ontario called for submissions for their online fundraising auction. Two hundred visual artists were chosen to participate in this curated event.
I was pleased that all four of my images were accepted.
Pasture Blues was one of those four chosen.
