The Textured Equine
The Arabian Stallion
Poland
As we drove down a narrow road to the stable, a horse nickered a welcome from his stall window. That stallion became a showman for us - prancing, rearing, shaking his head, pawing the ground. When he was let loose, he floated across the meadow - powerful and graceful. He was poetry in motion - well, I thought he was!
As the light was starting to fail, he was caught and brought into a centuries old stone stable. He snorted and pranced around a small ring inside. In that dimly lit space, he seemed to appear out of the shadows. We were treated to quite the performance!
Throughout our time there, I felt like we had taken a step into a past era. I wanted to recreate that feeling with a renaissance look to this portrait. This canvas now hangs in my home and is the first large canvas that I chose to print. It is huge and I think the size reminds me of his power and commanding presence - a beautiful memory.
