Monochrome

A Note from the Artist…

I’m once again in a darkroom although this time it is digital one.

In my twenties, I had my own darkroom. While I was a bit intimidated having to develop my own film, I managed to survive and printed 8 x 10 images (which I sold for $2 and people would comment - that is a lot of money!! Yes, in the dark ages in more than one way!)

With the amazing software available now, I love processing B&W images and the best part? No need to purchase multiple rolls of film!

How do I pick an image to edit in black and white? It is more of a feeling or intuition that I have that that image is ‘the one’.

I trust the images in this portfolio will give you a glimpse into some of my adventures.

I have a great appreciation for the B&W images that I so painstaking developed and edited in my first darkroom. That hands on experience paved the way for me to truly appreciate my digital darkroom that I work in now. Life really does come full circle!
